I just sent out the following Press Release. It should be a lot of fun if you want to get a taste of what Ron and I do with so much of our time!

Puddletown Squares, Seattle’s square dance club for Gays, Lesbians, and their friends will be having a Community Square Dance with caller Susan Morris, September 29th at West Seattle Tibbets Methodist Church, 3940 41st Ave SW, from 7–9:30pm. $10 dollars at the door.

The Community Dance Program is a big change from the type of square dancing that Puddletown Squares usually does in that dancers can come when they can and learn everything they need to dance that evening. The caller calls squares, mixers, circle dances, traditional dances, contras, trios, and mecolanzas. The dances are easily taught and always walked through before dancing them.

Square dancing is fun for all ages and is a great alternative to the bars. Longtime dancer and treasurer of Puddletown Squares, Ross Crawshaw-Lopton says, “Square Dancing is one of the few events in our community where not only do men and women have fun together, but they bring their kids and their parents and their straight friends!”
