tdjohnsn: (troy and ron)
Today was spent on chores and errands, but it was nice to finally feel well enough to get going on my new years resolutions!

We went to a gallery opening at the Wingnut gallery on Pike. A couple former students and my former boss from the college had pieces in the show and we ran into lots of people I know from the school. Then we went up the hill for the monthly Seattle Bear get together and had a lot of fun. Ran into my friend Kevin from college. He managed to point out that another college friend's son is now 18. Yeesh. Where does the time go?

Ron and I got to hear all about Stuart's new kitty and caught up with some people we have not seen since Bear Boot Camp last year.

We got in pretty late, though before midnight, but we still woke up at a decent hour to begin the day. I had to get up to feed the cats anyway so I made hashbrowns and eggs (for us, not the cats). There was a bag of spinach in the fridge so I sautéed that as well and put it on top of the potatoes, then poached the eggs to go on top of that. I figured we could use the extra iron and vitamins to make up for all the beer the night before.

Costco, Petco, GNC were the errands. We didn't need much from any of them so it went quickly, then we got home and finally, after months of delay, tackled cleaning the attic. Normally cleaning the attic would be the last cleaning chore, but we had such a backlog of stuff all over the house that needed to go up there that couldn't because it was such a disaster that we were quickly running out of open floor space on the main floor.

I decided to get rid of everything that I would not want to move to a new house and tried very hard not to get sentimental about anything.

Ron help a lot. He mostly handed stuff up and down the ladder for me but that meant I could concentrate on where things needed to go and what needed to go away. He is not much for organizing stuff, and he gets really depressed when I make him clean things and work on organizing projects so I suspect the day could not have been over fast enough for him...

We ended the day at El Gallito. Mmmm...enchiladas.

The house is still a disaster, but making progress really felt good. Now to keep it up till we have some clear spots big enough for the vacuum...
