Its all about branding!
Jan. 3rd, 2005 04:54 pmSo, I was fiddling with my journal settings and realized I need to do an entire brand assessment, and especially some color studies. I'm such a design nerd. But as I get this journal coordinated with my blog better, they need to look like they are from the same person. Need to I say!
We went to a Kings day party last night. One of our hosts had been drinking shots of Aquavit and needed to be helped to bed soon after we arrived. The party itself was fun. Lots of funny people. And it is really fun that they order a Kings Cake from New orleans each year. Ron and I both have colds so we did not go out to CCs with them when the party ended.
I'm not sure where the cold came from. I seem to be about a day behind Ron so I could have got it from him. There was not a lot of smooching on New Years Eve, but that may have been where it was picked up. Though, come to think of it, the reason there wasn't much smooching wasn't just the lack of opportunity, I wasn't in the mood which points to a cold brewing just under the surface.
New Years was fun though. We started out at CCs since various bears always speak highly of it, but the ratio of really unattractive men (I'm sure they were nice people, but a lot of the reason for going out is the eye candy) and men who had trimmed and groomed their eyebrows until they looked like girl eyebrows and Bois in clubbing outfits, to good looking Men, was not promising. And the smoke eaters were worse than at Guppies! (I didn't think that was possible.)
So, we walked down the hill to The Cuff. We were afraid that there would not be many people we know (which was the case last year) especially since our friends we usually spend New Years with were going to Portland and it seemed like everyone else had a party to go to. So, we walk in and who is getting drinks? Our friends who were going to go to Portland. We also ran into Carl and Michael who we almost never see since Michael moved out of the neighborhood.
All in all a good start to the new year.
I even have some resolutions this year.
First off is getting to the gym again. My mood and how my body feels are just so much better when I am working out regularly. I also need to be able to button my jeans without hurting my wrists.
The second is to get the house finally cleaned up. Our friend Stuart put the bug in my ear about getting rid of stuff you don't use, and since I had already been thinking about how much stuff we have that would get sent to goodwill if we were to ever move, it must be time to actually do a major culling.
Well, anyway, the kitties are asking for dinner so off to do that.
