Oh, the weather out side is frightful....
So, we survived the big storm last week. The power was out all day on Friday, and then for about 4 hours on Saturday, but otherwise The Kitten Ranch weathered the storm just fine. With the power out all day on Friday, I was able to just about finish up the floor in the office, and then with Ron home from his training trip, we got the new floor completely installed. We now have wood floors in the bedroom, front bedroom, and hallway.
It took a really long time.
The house has been torn up since the middle of September so I am really glad this phase of things is wrapping up. My office is moving into the front bedroom and we are rearranging the living room so that we use it as an actual living room (which will also give us room for guests again). The entire living room looks like a warehouse right now and we are on a deadline of this weekend to get it all sorted out so that we can put up the Christmas tree.
It will be nice to have the tree up and the house all reorganized and clean for the first time in a long time. We can spend evenings next week with christmas carols playing while we get packages wrapped to send to out of town relatives and actually send christmas cards for the first time in several years. Then the next week we can make Christmas cookies, and watch Christmas specials, and maybe have a few friends over for dinner. We have a wonderful decanter and glasses set that I have been dying to serve apéritifs in. Some last minute shopping as an excuse to catch a holiday movie and we should be all set for the big day!
But first things first, back to reorganizing the living room!
