Houses we are looking at
The Shoreline houses are not quite where we want to be, but if the house is right, then we would consider it.

At the top of our list, though a little more than we want to pay.

Looks like it might work. I like the lot a great deal.

Okay price, but not much to go on picture wise.

What is wrong with this one that the price is so low?

gorgeous house, but at the very tip top of our price range.

Kind of ugly. Might work in person. At the top of our price range.

This is so ugly it makes our eyes bleed, but siding can be changed if the interior space are okay. Looks like it might have a great view. Also, the price is right.

This house looks like it backs up to Paramount Park (not to be confused with the nearly-contiguous Paramount School Park, altho there is a walking trial between them). My impression is that occasionally sketchy characters camp out in the park for a period of time. This house is only a few hundred yards from a nice blackberry-producing meadow in the park.
I would guess there's not a lot wrong with it... that seems to me a very typical price for houses of that age in that location. I walk within a block of that house every morning on the way to school... maybe tomorrow I will take a walk past it and see if there's anything obvious from the street.
Note that its advertised attached 2-car garage may be a nose-to-tail garage (single wide, double long) instead of side-by-side-- you see a few of those, and the photo shows only one garage door.
This house is in the immediate neighborhood of a church that seems like it overflows its parking lot on Sunday mornings (even tho they have enlarged their parking within the last couple of years). Be aware that you might have parking-overflow issues on Sundays and maybe also on Wednesday nights.
There's my free advice... worth every penny, I'm sure.
And remember that unless you feel locked into your current RE agent, I know a good "family" friendly one who lives only about a mile from me, so he stays very aware of local trends (even tho his office is down on Eastlake).
