Christmas
Before it gets too late in the year, I should get my Christmas post up...and since it is both snowing tonight, and we finally had what I had planned for New Years Day dinner (the chicken finally thawed...) tonight is the night!
Ron has already posted about Christmas and the trip home, and while I have written all kinds of posts in my head the last couple weeks, none of them are floating to the surface now. So, just some pictures of the holiday:

Alice made it into this picture...

And Ibarra made it into this one (though she is hard to find unless you know where she is...)

Our Christmas cards strung across the windows into Ron's office. As much as I enjoy it, I hesitated sending Christmas cards this year since it has been a few years since we have had the mental and physical space around the holiday's to undertake that project. When I send a Holiday card, I want people to think, "Oh, they thought of us! What a great card! This makes me happy!" Instead I am afraid what people think is, "Crap, we just took them off our list since they never send us anything. And I just put the *&%$# cards away. @#$%&. And I bet they expect one in return too. Bastards."
And apparently, judging from my Brother and Sister-in-law's fridge, it is a requirement for straight people to send a family photo at the holidays. They must have had 25 or 30 of those 9" x 4" holiday cards with a studio portrait of various families on them stuck to to the fridge. Who wants a picture of other people's kids? What a bizarre glimpse into another lifestyle.

On the way to Spokane just over the pass.

On the way home over the pass.

I do! I love getting the pictures of friends who've moved away. I get to see their kids grow up. I'm actually still incensed that a friend hasn't sent out cards yet 'cause I want to see how much bigger their boys are.

I also actually enjoy getting family pictures from friends, especially if I don't get to see them regularly any longer...
